The latest Hallberg-Rassy with an aft cockpit

The new Hallberg-Rassy 400 with an aft cockpit features twin helms, a modern and efficient hull shape with twin rudders, and an easy-to-handle rig. The interior offers a choice of one or two aft cabins, one or two heads, and a classic mahogany or light European oak interior. Following the Hallberg-Rassy 40C center cockpit, the Hallberg-Rassy 400 is the second new 40-footer from Hallberg-Rassy in a short time.

Large Aft Cockpit

The cockpit is spacious. The twin helms make it easy to move around. There is ample space on the helm consoles for controls and displays. The cockpit coaming is wide enough for comfortable seating, as are the ergonomic cockpit benches with good back support. From the helm, the genoa tell-tails are clearly visible.

A fixed, high-gloss varnished teak table is available. Halyards and sheets are beautifully concealed in the cockpit, and electric winches are available, without compromising interior space. Storage compartments for excess ropes ensure the cockpit is always clean and tidy. The mainsheet traveler is conveniently located in front of the characteristic Hallberg-Rassy windshield.

A fold-down swim platform provides easy access in and out of the water. The storage space in the cockpit and lockers is larger than on its predecessor, the Hallberg-Rassy 412.

Flexible Interior Layout

Although "only" 40 feet long, the Hallberg-Rassy 400 is available with one or two heads and two or three cabins. The forward cabin can be ordered in three different layouts, a first for a Hallberg-Rassy with an aft cockpit:

• A bow owner's cabin with a center sleeper bed and an en-suite head with acrylic glass shower doors.
• A bow owner's cabin with a double bed and head, a shower with acrylic glass doors, and space for a washing machine.
• A bow owner's cabin with a double bed and no en-suite head.

The saloon is available with an L-shaped settee and a long bench or with an L-shaped settee and two armchairs. For the first time on a Hallberg-Rassy in this model line, a retractable entrance hatch with gas struts is available. In the single aft cabin version, the starboard settee is extra long. There is a choice of a single aft cabin with a large head and separate shower, or two aft cabins, still with a head.

Easy-to-handle sail plan

The rig is modern and easy to handle. The genoa is slightly overlapping and easy to trim; there's also an option for a self-tacking jib. The bowsprit is elegantly integrated into the hull and deck as standard, not a retrofit option. The bowsprit is an excellent attachment point for a gennaker, a bow ladder can be attached, and the Ultra bow anchor is integrated into it.

Comfort Options

The Hallberg-Rassy 400 can be equipped with various extras that make sailing even more comfortable, such as bow and stern thrusters and fully electric rigging. Other comfort options such as a generator, a washing machine, dishwasher, or an additional refrigerator and freezer are also available, as are air conditioning and even a watermaker.
