Excess 14
The Excess 14 is a sporty cruising catamaran that invites you to sail. Not complicated, but direct, open, and balanced. This is a boat that takes you along the moment you step aboard: cast off, hoist the sails, and enjoy the journey, with the comfort to live comfortably on board for extended periods. We're increasingly seeing these boats being used for long-distance cruising, including Atlantic crossings.
Her sleek lines and modern appearance reveal that more than just space has been considered here. The Excess 14 is designed to combine movement, freedom, and living comfort, without one compromising the other.
On Deck
On deck, the Excess 14 immediately feels logical. The two aft-positioned helm stations provide a good view of the sails, deck, and surroundings. Everything you need to operate the boat is clearly arranged and within easy reach.
The mast is positioned relatively far forward, allowing room for an overlapping genoa and an efficient sail plan. Combined with the square-top mainsail, the boat feels light and lively under sail. Those who prefer this can opt for the Pulse Line model, with a taller mast and sportier sails, without making handling more complicated.
What's immediately striking is how seamlessly indoor and outdoor flow together. The cockpit and saloon are on the same level, forming one large living space. You can effortlessly move between steering, trimming, and relaxing.
Below Deck
Below deck, the Excess 14 is modern, bright, and contemporary. Large windows and an open layout provide abundant natural light and a spacious feel. The interior is deliberately kept clean: functional, comfortable, and enjoyable to live in.
The Excess 14 is available in various layouts, with three or four cabins, depending on your intended use. The galley is conveniently positioned and connects the cockpit and saloon, keeping the interior and exterior seamlessly connected.
Like other Excess Catamaran models, the strength of the Excess 14 lies in its design and construction. Lightweight and rigid, it offers a beautiful balance between the boat's handling and the boat's comfort. A catamaran that demonstrates that performance and comfort can go hand in hand.
